NANA V. GONGADZE: Producer/News Correspondent (GVC Associate)

As a former GVC staffer, Nana produced a long-running Russian language TV series for the CIS Region and served as a TV Executive Producer for the firm’s public education campaign in Moldova. Before her association with the GVC Group, Nana worked for two decades as a Television Producer and On-Air Talent in her native Georgia, where she was Bureau Chief for ORT (Russian National TV Network) in Tbilisi during the tumultuous years of 1989-93. She immigrated to the United States in 1993. Now a Russian language Producer/Correspondent for the Voice of America, she has become a consultant to GVC for that vast and increasingly important area of the world east of the Danube River.

DAVID M. KONSCHNIK: Director/Writer (GVC Associate)

David is a Writer/Director, regularly associated with the GVC Group on projects. A former Group employee, he recently directed a major GVC contract with Sheehy Auto Stores as well as a 15-minute DVD condensation of a three hour university seminar on Puerto Rico politics. Subsequent to those projects, he directed numerous GVC productions with such entities as the Citizen’s Educational Foundation and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. While with the GVC Group, he contributed the production of “The Turtle Expedition Explores Iceland,” for which he was awarded “Silver Telly” for writing, Survival Stories, Carole O’Toole and Back to Bosnia, among others.

In addition to work with GVC, he is developing pilots for a broadcast series entitled “Dangerous World,” destined for the National Geographic Channel and he is a regular free lance writer/director for Court TV.  Recent credits include writing directing credits for a short documentary for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and a video for Paul’s Place Outreach Center. A versatile filmmaker, he has also performed as a sound Recordist with History Channel and The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian.

TOBY ROBERTS: Video Editor/Cinematographer (GVC Associate)
Toby Roberts is a professional cinematographer / editor / audio technician now busy with a variety of television and video projects in the Washington, DC area. A former employee of the GVC Group, Toby maintains a close working relationship with the firm, working on many projects. Very recently he edited a major GVC project, “Gonzaga, At The Heart of Things.”

A 2001 Communications School graduate of George Mason University, where he was honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for graduating #1 in his class, Toby was GVC’s staff editor until 2002, where he applied his keen insights and unerring eye to some fifty productions. Since many were in languages other than English, he developed unique skills for editing foreign language productions.  In addition, Toby was cameraman of numerous GVC productions.  His extensive knowledge of camera and technical systems made him invaluable on every editing project and photographic job.
 
As a cameraman, Toby has recently shot news footage for ABC World News Tonight, Entertainment Tonight, The Dr. Phil Show, HBO, Access Hollywood, and ESPN. He has edited programs for WNBC New York, Nextel, FEMA, NPR, US Department of Justice, and The World Bank. He’s also recorded sound for National Geographic Channel, and The Discovery Channel. 

Among Toby’s professional honors is a 1999 Silver “Telly,” for shooting and editing the GVC production of the 55-minute documentary, “The Turtle Expedition: Land of Fire and Ice.” In addition he was awarded a 2004 Aurora Award for editing a NPR Corporate Underwriting Video as well as the Aegis and Communicator award for award for editing the Combined Federal Campaign promotional video in 2005.

ROBERT MURRAY: Fine Arts Consultant (GVC Associate)

Robert F. Murray is owner and director of The Von Brahler Ltd./Gallery located within the GVC Group’s complex of buildings. There, Bob presents open studio shows featuring the works of contemporary Russian artists as well as exhibiting his own paintings called “Waterexpressions.” He is the GVC Group’s consultant for ventures with our clients in the fine arts.

Bob brings a wealth of artistic, educational and commercial experience to his association with GVC.  Since 1983, he has broadened interest in the works of Russian painters, many of whom were suppressed during the days of Soviet dictatorship. In addition to their promotion, he has written columns and critiques for national art media newspapers and magazines.  In 1983 he also founded the Association of Alexandria Art Galleries which he oversaw until 1995. Within all of this busyness, he earned a Master’s Degree in Art History from Georgetown University.

Before entering the gallery business, Bob built a commercial career with the airlines, British Overseas Airways Corporation, where he trained as a Management Candidate.  Springing from that endeavor, he moved to an association with the North Carolina World Trade Association, the Paperboard Packaging Council, the National Audio visual Association and with the Retail Jewelers of America.

After many years of representing artists, Bob began to paint seriously his “Waterexpressions,” which are now exhibited in collections domestically and in many other countries. Presently, Bob is known in the art community as an activist looking out for the interests of professional artists and galleries.  His work with Russian artists is well known in Washington, Moscow and St. Petersburg.

AARON DEAS: Webmaster and Designer

Aaron C. Deas has designed web sites for nonprofit associations, political campaigns, a member of Congress, and private businesses. He is a former senior legislative assistant to Oregon Congressman Peter DeFazio, specializing in health and telecommunications issues.

Prior to working in Congress, Aaron was legislative assistant to the Oregon State House Assistant Minority Leader during the 1997 legislative session. He also has extensive campaign experience, including managing a successful campaign for state representative.
